African cities are “grand living laboratories” at the intersection of rapid urbanisation and climate action, yet they continue to face substantial deficits in infrastructure investment, constrained fiscal capacity, and rising environmental pressures. This session will explore ways to overcome these barriers, mobilise resources, and use better data and governance to support sustainable, climate-resilient urban development in line with Agenda 2063 and the Nairobi Declaration on Climate Change.
