Despite their critical role in economic and social development, African cities face persistent deficits in infrastructure investment and limited fiscal capacity. This session will examine the structural and institutional barriers to urban financing, explore mechanisms to mobilise resources, and consider how improved data and financial governance can support sustainable urban development across the continent.
